How much would you remember if you were to have retrograde amnesia?

i know that retrograde amnesia is the inability to recall events before the traumatic accident, but does that mean the person won't know worldly things? like how to count money, or how to shop, or designers and brands? How much would you remember if you were to have retrograde amnesia?
Hi Hershey - Toke thought I might be able to help.

In 94 I was nearly killed in an accident that destroyed parts of my right temporal and frontal lobes. I woke from a 10 day coma a quadriplegic with total amnesia and the inability to to communicate except with my eyes. Initially my thoughts had no words to describe them and speech of those around me was foreign. At first my only memories were of the the immediate days faces and events, nothing more. I didn't remember my own name or the faces of loved ones, all in all it was the most terrifying thing I have ever experienced. I spent a year in the hospital not only recovering physically but mentally and spiritually. I was given a "generated memory" created by friends and family (mostly my my mother recounting stories of my entire life). The problems I currently have began several years later when my actual memories began to resurface and create violent conflict with those that were generated. I've been seeing a therapist weekly since then to help me resolve these conflicts.

I'm not Christian but some have compared my experience to being born again or even reincarnated. I can't say but I do know my taste in food changed but not my aggressive personality. I was and still am artistic but my style definitely changed and I used to concentrate on two dimensional art but am now more into to three dimensional sculpture. I'm numerically dyslectic now and need others to help me with money but that is more a result of my brain damage than my amnesia. I'm an avid eBay shopper and have migrated back to clothes I found in my closet after I returned home. Brands like Pendleton, Levi and Tony Llama and any English wool tweed jacket (I even wear an ascot occasionally if I'm feeing self conscious about my scars). I'm 59 if that helps explain my fashion or lack of.

Repressed memories are typically very specific, and have nothing to do with general abilities like how to count, etc. They're consciously inspired, meaning there is a conscious will to forget. Eventually they return however, which is another traumatic event in itself. Almost the last thing a person remembers is why they repressed it in the first place. How much would you remember if you were to have retrograde amnesia?
why is your entire question about shopping?
