My boyfriend wants me to play Amnesia:the Dark Decent for 1hr in total darkness and ive never played before...He knows i am very easily scared and i don't want to give him the satisfaction of jumping... Haha. Don't use headphones, and don't put the volume up too loud. You're probably going to jump, nothing you can do about that, but this really isn't that scary of a game, it's kind of like Silent Hill in that it plays on your anticipation.
