With amnesia, do you forget how to read, forget who the police are?

I am at risk for catching amnesia... and am wondering. say i go out somewhere to the city for example and get amnesia. will i forget that i have to find the police for help(that the police are the people to go to for help), and will i forget how to read? it is a possible side effect of a medication. With amnesia, do you forget how to read, forget who the police are?
I dont know, I have amnesia!!With amnesia, do you forget how to read, forget who the police are?
Those would have to be some strong pills. Even people who come out of a coma or have a head trauma don't forget how to read or who the police are although it is different for a lot of people who suffer amnesia. Leave a note in your purse or an identification card on you in case you do have amnesia. It should have your name. First and last. Your address. Your telephone number. And one or two people to call in an emergency. The medications you are taking and why. Your doctor's name and number. Maybe a note to yourself to call 911 when you can't remember what to do.With amnesia, do you forget how to read, forget who the police are?
Usually it happens when you are hit on the head...cause that is your computer...For instance severe brain damage the person will not be the same person. (Some will divorce if you are young). I mean this person who is not the same man/women. NO JUDGMENT though. ...until you walk in their shoes.

If you are older you may have to put that person in a home.

I do not know much about amnesia so i would go to the doctor...or read up on it.
